Spell ornaments are a fun way to use the magic of your Yule tree (or a houseplant!) to activate your intention and make your ornaments so much more special!
You can create new ones or renew your spell each year with a simple enchantment!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Clear glass ball ornaments (non-breakable is best)
Small piece of paper
Pen
Choose what feels right from the following list:
Coloured yarn/ribbon/string corresponding to your intention
Glitter (We also recommend using colours to match your intention!)
Small crystal pieces or stones
Herbs that correspond with intention.
Little trinkets or baubles (Ex. The following working is based on a creativity spell where I included a hair from the bow of my cello and a tiny vial of calligraphy ink!)
Feathers, sticks, sequins, etc. Anything that feels right!
NOTE We found that if the ornaments were too heavy, the hanger on the ornament would fall off. Try to keep things light
The following is an example where I have created an ornament I’ve made with the intention of creativity.
STEPS:
Set your space and prepare yourself however you need to perform a working.
Choose an intention for your spell ornament.
Remember that your tree is sacred: A promise of light, a sentinel of greenery at the year’s darkest time. You can use its powerful living energy to activate your intention!
Visualize your intention manifesting in your life. Choose a symbol, word, or phrase you can associate with your intention.
Inscribe your symbol or word on the paper while visualizing your desired outcome.
I wanted to draw on creative inspiration, and a picture of a lightbulb surrounded by music notes and calligraphic letters came to mind. Whatever you want, trust your intuition!
When you are comfortable that your intention has been set, fill your ornament by passing with the remainder of the supplies through the hole in the top.
Once you’re finished, replace the top of the ornament. We enjoyed chanting a small rhyme while holding our ornament to infuse it with our personal magic.
We have come up with the following for your use should you choose:
“In the heart of winter's night so long,
I call upon the Solstice' song
With this oil, I bring in light,
To comfort, warm, and senses delight
As I anoint, the light does grow,
In darkest hours, a comforting glow
This blend brings warmth into my soul,
In times of need, make spirit whole.”
**NOTE: For my creativity spell, I included yellow & gold glitter and ribbons, a clear quartz crystal, yellow citrine, a hair from my cello bow, basil, coriander, and rosemary.
As you place your ornament on the tree, ask it to lend its energies to the spell. Thank it for its work, and send it your love and respect. End your working, and you are done!
